Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soares comes into the arena with Vida Loka Parte 1 blaring out of the sound system. Alves has chosen Rob Zombie - Scum of the earth as his entrance music. Ricardo Soares has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
Soares is looking to clinch.
A head kick misses from Alves.
Alves swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Alves is looking to slow Soares down with leg kicks.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Alves. Soares shrugs it off though.
Alves looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A right-left combo lands from Alves.
Soares throws a right hand that misses
and Alves counters with a slapping leg kick.
Soares doesn't manage to clinch there - Alves circles away.
Alves connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Soares tries to clinch but Alves is having none of it.

Alves drives through with a takedown into Soares's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Alves stands and throws Soares's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Soares is breathing heavily.
Alves misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Soares looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Alves! Submission of the night perhaps?
