PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dragon Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Jecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jecht has chosen Pink Floyd - Young Lust as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragon Slayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sir Jecht!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer scoring well with a low kick there.
Slayer throws a push kick but Jecht slaps the foot to one side.
Jecht chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Slayer can pounce on him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jecht is defended easily by Slayer.
Jecht fails with a takedown attempt.
Slayer scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A swing and a miss from Slayer.
Slayer throws a half hearted mid kick.
The fighters circling - Slayer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jecht misses with a hook. Slayer ducked under it nicely.

A clash of legs there as Jecht blocks the low kick.
Jecht moves out of range of the body kick.
Slayer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A slapping body kick lands there for Slayer.
Jecht ducks under a wild hook from Slayer.
Slayer lands a slapping body shot.
Slayer needs to keep his hands up - Jecht had a free shot at his head there.
Jecht misses with a low kick.
Jecht tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slayer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jecht somewhat.
Dragon Slayer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sir Jecht.
Jecht avoids the head kick by Slayer.
Jecht feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Slayers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Slayer bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slayer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Slayer scores with a jab to the body.
Jecht lands with an uppercut that bounces Slayer off the cage and back into range.
Jecht lands with a cross.
Slayer connects with a solid leg kick.
Slayer throws a low kick but Jecht avoids it.
Slayer throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jecht has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Slayer.
Slayer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Slayer lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jecht has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jecht and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Slayer moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jecht avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Slayer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jecht.
Jecht takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jecht jabs Slayer right on the nose. Slayer blinks but takes it well.
Jecht is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Jecht ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slayer moves away.
Slayer throws a chopping leg kick but Jecht manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Slayer throws a solid leg kick but Jecht takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Slayer.
Jecht throws a lazy right hand but Slayer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jecht scores with a sloppy right hand. Slayer should have avoided that one.
Jecht throws a leg kick that misses.
Jecht connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jecht is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jecht throws a low kick, looking for Slayer's leg but Slayer calmly moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jecht scores with a punch to the head.
Slayer scores with a nice right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slayer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jecht.
Jecht throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slayer's waist but Slayer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jecht off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Slayer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jecht fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Slayer to the ground. Jecht is now in Slayer's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Jecht working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slayer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Slayer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jecht cracks Slayer with a solid left hand.
Slayer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jecht has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jecht postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dragon Slayer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Jecht counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Slayer's guard now.

Jecht connects with a couple of short punches.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jecht's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jecht throws a strike but Slayer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Jecht has a closed guard, preventing Slayer from standing up.

Slayer is stalling in the full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Dragon Slayer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nice takedown defense from Slayer. No joy for Jecht on that attempt.
Dragon Slayer is winning the standup battle so far.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jecht.
Slayer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jecht wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jecht throwing strikes but Slayer manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Slayer content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Jecht wants to control but Slayer is keeping busy.

We're going to have a standup here because Dragon Slayer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jecht.
Nice takedown defense from Slayer. No joy for Jecht on that attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slayer looks for the body kick but Jecht saw that one coming.
Slayer tries to score with a low kick but Jecht moves his leg out of the way.
Slayer throws a leg kick but Jecht moved away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sir Jecht showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jecht is looking to advance position but Slayer has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Jecht is squirming around, avoiding Slayer's attempts to control the action.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Slayer! Jecht is out on his feet! Slayer rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jecht is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jecht is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dragon Slayer!
