Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Granite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granite has chosen Brokencyde - Get Crunk as his entrance music. Rocky Granite looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenny Finch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Granite!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finch fails in his attempt to clinch.
Finch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Granite swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Finch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Finch perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Finch throwing shots but Granite is blocking nicely.
Granite is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Finch scores with a couple of nice shots.
Granite avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Finch.
Finch wants to take a breather but Granite is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Granite keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Granite wants to control but Finch is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Finch looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Finch with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Finch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Finch passes Granite's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Finch wants to pass the guard but Granite is defending well.

Finch seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Finch connects with a couple of short punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Granite utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Finch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Granite swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Granite is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Finch defends well.

Finch is looking to work some ground and pound but Granite has wrist control.

Finch stands up over Granite, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Finch passes into half guard.
Finch is keen to just control but Granite is a slippery customer.
Finch is nestled in close to Granite, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Finch slips a nice elbow through Granite's hands, connecting with Granite's forehead.

Finch is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Granite sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Granite is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Finch is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Granite has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nice strikes from Finch there.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Finch connects with a nice short shot to Granite's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Finch is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Finch throwing shots but Granite is blocking nicely.
Finch winds up and cracks Granite with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Finch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Finch throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Granite taking some punishment here, with Finch in his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Finch is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Granite's half guard.
Finch is trying to control the action in half guard but Granite is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Finch wants to free his trapped foot but Granite is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Still in half guard, Finch seems content to control.
Granite is not content to let Finch control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Granite keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Finch is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Finch is keen to just control but Granite is a slippery customer.
Finch is really struggling to control Granite but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Granite is breathing heavily.

We're going to have a standup here because Kenny Finch wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Finch.
Finch has a takedown stuffed.
Finch shoots in looking for a takedown but Granite manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Finch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Finch. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Finch moves into full mount! Granite won't be happy about that!
Finch cracks Granite with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Finch has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Granite's face.
Finch is landing with some decent strikes but Granite is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Finch connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Finch postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Granite looks a forlorn figure.

Finch is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Granite can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

It looks like Rocky Granite has been cut.

Granite is bucking up trying to escape but Finch cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Granite is still in real trouble! Can Finch finish him?

Kenny Finch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Finch cracks Granite with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
