Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dell Trotter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dell Trotter has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Joe Hughs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hughs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 2, fighting out of London, Dell Trotter!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trotter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughs is fending him off so far but Trotter persists. Nope, Hughs circles away and we're back to standing.
Trotter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Trotter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hughs as he jumps to the side.
Trotter swats away the attempt to clinch by Hughs.
Horrible takedown by Trotter or perhaps it was just good defense by Hughs which made him look bad.
Joe Hughs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dell Trotter.
Trotter fails with the takedown
and Hughs counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Trotter is defended easily by Hughs.
Hughs fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Trotter has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Trotter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hughs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Hughs counters with a nice low kick that buckles Trotter's knee momentarily.

Hughs scores with a one two! Trotter had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Trotter takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hughs tries to clinch but Trotter is having none of it.
Joe Hughs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Trotter.
Trotter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hughs but Hughs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hughs pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hughs is working Trotter over against the cage.
Trotter wants to break free but Hughs has control.

Hughs is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Trotter is defending well for now.

A frustrated look appears on Trotter's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Trotter wants to get back to striking at distance but Hughs won't allow it.

Hughs connects with a nasty looking knee right to Trotter's face.
Trotter tries to pull guard but Hughs forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Trotter wants to break free but Hughs has control.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hughs obliges.
Hughs lands a nice knee to the body.
Trotter is trying to push Hughs away but Hughs has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hughs misses with a hook to the ribs.
Trotter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hughs landing knees to the head.

Trotter managing to block the knees to the body from Hughs.
Hughs connects with a knee to the head.
Trotter has Hughs pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hughs manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Trotter tries to break free but Hughs pushes him back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trotter has Hughs pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hughs manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hughs is leaning against Trotter and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Hughs prevents the takedown attempt.
Hughs with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Trotter takes an elbow to the forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hughs throws a combination. Trotter tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Trotter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Dell Trotter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trotter is rocked!
Hughs has Trotter pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Trotter is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Hughs - that's hurt Trotter badly! Oh, another knee lands and Trotter is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Trotter doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Joe Hughs!
