Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Iced Earth - A Question of Heaven. Stout has chosen Disturbed - Criminal as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Stout!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Martinez walks into a straight right hand from Stout.
Stout feints and then cracks Martinez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Martinez down.
Nice defenses there by Stout.
Martinez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Stout looks to land a body kick but Martinez moved away.
Sam Stout seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A solid leg kick lands there for Stout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stout is looking to take a break and control but Martinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stout is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Stout is looking to pass Martinez's guard but actually Martinez recovers to full guard.
Stout stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martinez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Martinez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stout puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Martinez tries to roll over but Stout keeps him under control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stout seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Martinez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stout defends well.

Stout is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Martinez.

and Stout finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Martinez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stout circles away quickly and effectively.
Martinez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stout's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Martinez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Martinez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stout looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Martinez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Martinez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
