PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tota Lidel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lidel's choice of entrance music: Dry Kill Logic - Lost. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tota Lidel!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lidel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lynch.
Lidel throws a head kick that misses.
Lynch misses with a body shot.
Lidel fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lidel throws a head kick that misses.
Nice takedown defense from Lynch. No joy for Lidel on that attempt.
Lidel looks for a takedown but Lynch sprawls well.

Lidel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lynch, pushing him back against the cage.

Lidel breaks the clinch.
Lynch paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lynch throws a right hand that Lidel ducks under and follows up with a left that Lidel also avoids with ease.

Lidel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lynch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lidel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lynch keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lynch defending against the ground and pound.
Lidel creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Lidel slows the pace down.
Let's hope that Lidel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lidel fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lynch is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lidel asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lynch avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lidel.
Lidel tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lidel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lynch's shoulder. That is not cool.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lidel decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lynch to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lidel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lynch's waist but Lynch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lidel off to one side.
Danny Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tota Lidel.
Lidel shoots in but no luck this time.
No joy there for Lynch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lidel throws a looping overhand right but Lynch ducks down to avoid it.
Lynch fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lidel walks into a straight right hand from Lynch.


It looks like Tota Lidel has been cut.
Lynch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lidel takes one to the chin there.
Lynch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lidel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lidel throws a hook but Lynch blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lidel wants to clinch up but Lynch keeps it at a distance.
Lynch misses with a series of wild punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lidel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Come on Lidel - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are getting on Lidel's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lidel lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tota Lidel dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tota Lidel's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Lidel takes a shot right to the bread basket.


It looks like Danny Lynch has been cut.
Lynch is looking to chop away at Lidel's legs.
Danny Lynch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lidel checks a low kick from Lynch.
Lynch works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lidel on the wrong end of a nice hook.


Lidel is rocked!
Lynch finds Lidel's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Lidel flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lynch lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Lidel will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Lynch!
