Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeru Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larsen comes to the cage accompanied by Now. Masaru has chosen The Naked And Famous - Young Blood as his entrance music. Micheal Larsen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Micheal Larsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeru Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larsen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Masaru looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Larsen has gone for a leg lock! Masaru slips out almost immediately though and dives into Larsen's guard.
Larsen keeping moving, preventing Masaru from controlling successfully.

Larsen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masaru can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Larsen trying to keep a closed guard but Masaru is proving a slippery customer.

Masaru advances to half guard.
Larsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Masaru is looking for a kimura but Larsen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Masaru to get the leverage.
Masaru passes the guard and advances to mount!

Larsen wants to control but Masaru is having none of it.
Larsen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Larsen tries to hold on but Masaru pushes him away.
Masaru controlling the position easily from mount.
Larsen slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Masaru seems to be working for a kimura but Larsen defends the submission attempt.

Larsen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Masaru's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Masaru's back!

Larsen is trying to stick to Masaru's back but Masaru is turning into Larsen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Larsen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Masaru.

Larsen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Larsen has an active guard here but Masaru has managed to pass into half guard.

Masaru is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Larsen!
Masaru manages to capitalize on a mistake by Larsen to take his back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Masaru is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Takeru Masaru will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Larsen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Masaru ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Larsen moves away.
Larsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Masaru swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Larsen throws a series of punches but Masaru avoids them all with ease.

Larsen looking to score a takedown here. Masaru is defending well but Larsen drives through and ends up in Masaru's guard.
Masaru is pulling down on Larsen's head. It's preventing any offense from Larsen, at least for the moment.
Masaru's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Larsen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Larsen forces his way into half guard.

Masaru makes his way to full guard, as Larsen worked for a kimura.

Masaru is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Larsen is aware though and is defending well.
Masaru is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Masaru working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larsen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larsen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Masaru is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Larsen defends well.

Masaru got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Masaru has managed to get both his arms back between Larsen's legs - danger averted.

Masaru stands and throws Larsen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Larsen tries to improve position but can't.
Larsen being controlled for a moment.
Let's hope that Masaru has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Larsen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Masaru tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Masaru looking to control but instead Larsen has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Masaru is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takeru Masaru showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Masaru shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Larsen's guard.

Larsen is not content to let Masaru control the position.

Masaru throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Masaru is trying to control the action in half guard but Larsen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Larsen is looking for a sweep. Masaru is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Masaru is just content to waste time from the top position. Larsen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Larsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masaru doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masaru manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Masaru sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Larsen's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Masaru is trying to work for a kimura but Larsen is defending well.

Takeru Masaru is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Masaru is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Larsen is in real trouble.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Larsen is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Takeru Masaru comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Masaru winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
