The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyle looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Karev misses with a low kick.
Karev swings for the body but Kyle moves out of range.
Kyle on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Karev. Karev obviously looking to wear him down.
Karev misses with a kick to the body.
Karev defending well as Kyle loads up on a big left hand.

Kyle takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

so Kyle counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oleg Karev was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kyle throws a push kick but Karev slaps the foot to one side.

Karev ducks under a wild hook from Kyle.
Kyle looks for a takedown but Karev sprawls well.

Karev fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kyle on the side of the head.

Kyle throws the left hand but Karev avoids the punch easily.

Kyle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karev was well out of range. Poor timing from Kyle.
Karev dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kyle dives in and grabs Karev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Karev pushes down on Kyle's head and hops out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Karev feints and then cracks Kyle's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kyle down.
A nice inside leg kick there by Karev. That's going to slow Kyle down.
Kyle is breathing heavily.
Karev scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Karev thuds his shin into the meat of Kyle's side.
Karev throws a leg kick which misses Kyle's front leg but catches the back leg as Kyle tries to avoid it.

Karev lands a leg kick that knocks Kyle off balance momentarily.
Karev tries to bum rush Kyle with a series of wild strikes but Kyle uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Karev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Karev fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Karev wants to land a leg kick but Kyle is out of range.
Karev looks to score with a jab to the body but Kyle is just out of range.
Karev throws a lazy body kick

and Kyle counters with a takedown into side control.
Karev is trying to control Kyle's posture but Kyle avoids it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kyle working the strikes but Karev uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Karev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Karev lands with a kick to the temple. Kyle shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Karev catches Kyle with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Karev connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kyle has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kyle there as he acknowledges the shot.
Oleg Karev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kyle takes a swing at Karev's ribcage but misses.
Kyle is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A head kick by Kyle misses
and Karev counters with a body kick that stops Kyle in his tracks momentarily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Karev.
Kyle moves out of range of the body kick.
Karev throws a leg kick which misses Kyle's front leg but catches the back leg as Kyle tries to avoid it.
Karev feints a jab promting Kyle to slip. Karev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kyle slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Karev connects with a solid leg kick.
Karev takes a swing at Kyle's ribcage but misses.
Karev throws a leg kick which misses Kyle's front leg but catches the back leg as Kyle tries to avoid it.
Karev connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Karev ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Karev has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Both fighters circling a little - Karev finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Karev turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kyle's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Karev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kyle scrambles back to his feet.
Karev lands with a kick to the temple. Kyle shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Nice uppercut lands for Karev. That snapped Kyle's head back.
Karev has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kyle misses with a left hand
enabling Karev to counter with a crisp jab.
Karev feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kyle's calf.
Karev gets in close and tags Kyle with a short punch that almost sends Kyle to the mat! Oh Kyle is in big trouble! He turns his back on Karev, trying to create some distance but Karev rushes him, striking wildly and Kyle goes down! The referee tackles Karev into the cage to end the fight! Karev is one violent man!
