Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slopey Smith!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finn throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith cracks Finn with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Finn has a takedown stuffed.

Finn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Finn lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Finn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Finn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Finn won't allow Smith to sweep him here.
Finn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Finn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Finn.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Finn pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Finn working over Smith with some ground and pound. Smith looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith regains full guard. Nicely done.

Smith pulls Finn in close to prevent any damage.
Smith is trying to keep Finn in close.

Finn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Finn trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Finn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smith is trying to control the position but Finn postures up.

Finn postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it.

Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Finn is aware though and is defending well.
Finn postures up and lands a big shot to Smith's brow.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Smith keeping full guard, as Finn tries to pass.

Finn throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Finn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head.
Finn is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Finn defends it easily.
Smith wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Finn is now in half guard.
Finn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head.
Finn moves nicely into side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Finn cracks Smith with a big right hand but Smith just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Finn lands some shots froms side control.
Finn throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Smith sneaks back into half guard.
Smith is looking to improve his position.
Finn lands with a punch from half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Finn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.


Smith is rocked!
Finn working over Smith with some ground and pound. Smith looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Finn finish him?
Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Finn connects with a couple of short punches.

Finn stands up over Smith, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Finn loads up on a big left hand. Smith felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Finn looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Smith can't hide his disappointment, as Finn celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey Finn!

In his post fight interview, Mickey Finn started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
