The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clavet closes the distance and clinches up with Steel, looking for a takedown. Clavet pushes Steel against the cage but Steel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Decent striking displayed by Steel there.
No joy there for Steel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Steel pushes Clavet off and gets back to his feet.
A jab from Steel finds it's way through Clavet's defenses.

Clavet tries to work over Steel's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Steel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Clavet throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Clavet shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steel pinned against the cage. Steel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Clavet has taken the fight to the clinch.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A lazy left from Steel finds it's target.
Steel punishes Clavet's body with a nice straight punch.

Steel grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Clavet takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Steel cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

After the fight, Cory Steel was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
