Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Niwat Sirichok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gegard Mou!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirichok tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mou manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mou shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sirichok but Sirichok pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sirichok closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sirichok gets underhooks to prevent Mou's takedown attempt.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
With the fighters up against the cage, Mou throws an elbow but misses.
Sirichok gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Gegard Mou has been cut.
Sirichok manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Mou changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sirichok fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Niwat Sirichok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gegard Mou.
Mou shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sirichok as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sirichok drives through and clinches with Mou against the cage.
Sirichok lands an elbow just above Mou 's eye.
Mou tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sirichok just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sirichok gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That has opened up Gegard Mou's cut even more.
Sirichok content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Sirichok gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Sirichok tries to land knees in the clinch but Mou avoids the damage to the body.
Mou takes an elbow to the temple.
Sirichok tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mou avoids it.
Sirichok gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
The cut above Gegard Mou's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mou should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mou is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sirichok is keeping busy.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sirichok - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mou wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mou misses with a hook to the ribs.
Sirichok has a couple of punches blocked by Mou.
Sirichok lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Gegard Mou's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mou blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Sirichok creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mou's defenses.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gegard Mou's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Niwat Sirichok!
