Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hale Erwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ladislav Hemsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erwin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Young Jeezy feat. T.I. - F.A.M.E.. Hemsky has chosen Onward to Victory as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hale Erwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ladislav Hemsky!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erwin staying out of range there.
Hemsky takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hemsky uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Erwin.

Erwin has Hemsky up against the cage in a clinch.
Erwin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hemsky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Erwin swings wildly with an uppercut but Hemsky uses good head movement to avoid it.
Erwin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Erwin tries to work over Hemsky's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Erwin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

and Hemsky counters with an outside leg kick.

Hemsky fails to land with a series of punches.
Hemsky walks into a left hand.
Hemsky takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Erwin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Erwin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Erwin throws a wild body kick that Hemsky sees coming a mile off.
Hemsky bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Erwin misses with a kick to the body
and Hemsky counters with a series of strikes. Erwin will be more careful next time no doubt.

Erwin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A slow jab from Erwin misses its intended target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hemsky lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Erwin has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Hemsky drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Erwin throws a shot from downtown. Hemsky moves away and avoids it.
The fighters circling - Erwin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hemsky cracks the inside of Erwin's front leg.

Hemsky gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Erwin gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Hale Erwin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
