Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lee Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matea Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matea Berry will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matea Berry!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berry tries to keep at a distance but Sin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sin is trying to drag Berry to the mat but Berry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Berry is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sin is keeping busy.

Sin has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Berry is trying to keep an underhook but Sin manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Berry is looking to improve his position.
Sin controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Berry is trying to control but Sin manages to pass to mount!
Sin breaks from Berry's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Sin working the ground and pound effectively.
Sin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Berry tries to hold on but Sin postures up.

Sin prevents Berry from getting the reversal.
Sin lands a heavy elbow.
Sin looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
BOOM! Sin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Berry wants to hold on but Sin pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sin scoring with strikes but Berry is staying in there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sin lands a nice shot to the head.
Sin content just to control the position here.

Sin lands a big shot there that rocks Berry but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Berry regains half guard.
Berry won't allow Sin to pass to mount.
Berry is looking for a sweep. Sin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Berry on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Berry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Berry pushes Sin off looking to stand but Sin dives back in and keeps control.
Sin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Sin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Berry throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Berry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Berry's guard.

Berry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Berry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Sin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Berry for as long as he can get away with.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lee Sin wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Berry throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Lee Sin has been cut.

Berry pushes Sin up against the cage in a clinch.

Berry looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Sin is trying to trip Berry. He has hold of a leg but Berry is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Berry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Berry is looking for a triangle but Sin pushes his legs off easily.
Lee Sin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lee Sin.
Berry misses with a takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Sin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Lee Sin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matea Berry.

Sin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Berry is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

With the fighters up against the cage, Berry throws an elbow but misses.
Berry putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sin in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Sin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Berry is defending well for now.
Berry is trying to stall.

Berry avoiding damage as Sin throws knees to the body.
Sin is pressed up against the cage. Berry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sin down to the mat. Sin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Berry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Berry takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sin gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Berry is defending against the submission attempts here by Sin.
Sin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Berry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sin lands with a punch from half guard.
Berry gets full guard.
Sin postures up and lands a big shot to Berry's brow.
Sin controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sin wants to pass the guard but Berry is keeping the position.
Sin stands up over Berry, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lee Sin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Berry looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Matea Berry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Berry can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sin controls the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lee Sin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
