The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chekhemani moves in looking to clinch but Thory pushes him off.
Vic Thory seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thory lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thory tries to clinch up but Chekhemani circles away and keeps his distance.
Thory smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

A determined Vic Thory didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
