Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joran van der Sloot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Voodoo People as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around van der Sloot's waist but van der Sloot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from van der Sloot.
van der Sloot looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well.
Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from van der Sloot.
van der Sloot swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
van der Sloot throws a solid leg kick but Johnson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at van der Sloot.

Johnson has closed the distance and engaged van der Sloot in a clinch.
van der Sloot lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as van der Sloot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! van der Sloot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and van der Sloot manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into van der Sloot's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
van der Sloot bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

van der Sloot instigates a clinch.
van der Sloot lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Johnson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
van der Sloot misses with a punch on the inside.
van der Sloot lands with a left to the head.
van der Sloot lands a left hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
Johnson is trying to push van der Sloot away but van der Sloot has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

van der Sloot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
van der Sloot throws a nice outside leg kick.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but van der Sloot shows good takedown defense.
van der Sloot throws a leg kick but Johnson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but van der Sloot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Joran van der Sloot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Johnson.

van der Sloot throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and van der Sloot moves out of range easily.
Johnson tries to clinch there but van der Sloot circles away.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches van der Sloot napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Johnson has hold of van der Sloot's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! van der Sloot tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Johnson cranks the arm and van der Sloot screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from van der Sloot, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
