PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helge Fossmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fossmo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Helge Fossmo predikar. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Helge Fossmo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sub Zero!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fossmo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zero.
Zero throws a right and a left that Fossmo avoids nicely.

Fossmo feints and as Zero raises his hands in defense, Fossmo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fossmo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fossmo tries to free his leg and advance position but Zero is retaining full guard.
Fossmo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fossmo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fossmo throws an elbow that misses. Zero uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fossmo's guard. Nice move by Zero!

Zero stands and steps away. Fossmo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fossmo slips a jab and a cross from Zero.
Zero lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fossmo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Zero.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zero throws a right hand that misses
and Fossmo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fossmo cracks Zero with a good jab.

It looks like Sub Zero has been cut.
Zero looks to land a combination but Fossmo avoids it well.
Fossmo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Zero.
Zero falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fossmo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Fossmo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zero on his heels. He'll look to pass Zero's guard now, I'm sure.
Fossmo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fossmo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zero swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fossmo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fossmo looks up at the clock and then as Zero takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fossmo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fossmo trying to control the position but Zero is working away.
Zero wants to control but Fossmo postures up.
Fossmo misses with the ground and pound.
Zero avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fossmo.

Zero tries to escape but Fossmo is in control.

You can see the frustration on Zero's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Zero is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fossmo connects with a decent elbow.
Fossmo lands an elbow.
An elbow from Fossmo crashes against the mat.

Zero is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fossmo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zero takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fossmo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Fossmo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zero some visible discomfort.
Zero is trying to buck Fossmo off.

The cut above Sub Zero's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sub Zero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
