Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lungdumtu Amah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melendez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: World Destruction. Lungdumtu Amah could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mauricio Melendez's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amah looking to score a takedown here. Melendez is defending well but Amah drives through and ends up in Melendez's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Amah wants to stand and escape but instead Melendez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Amah closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Melendez's guard.

Amah drops back, looking for a kneebar! Melendez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Melendez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Melendez!

Melendez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Amah to his feet.

and Melendez counters with a three punch combo that has Amah backing up. Amah nods at Melendez to acknowledge the strikes.
Amah slaps away a takedown attempt from Melendez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lungdumtu Amah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Melendez.
Amah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Melendez's waist but Melendez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amah off to one side.

Melendez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Amah is looking to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Melendez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Melendez is looking for a kimura but Amah is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Melendez to get the leverage.

A close round but Mauricio Melendez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Amah's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Melendez has hold of Amah's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Amah manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
