Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eye Phone!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat lands with a kick to the temple. Phone shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Phone missing with a left hand there. Sagat was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sagat. That's going to slow Phone down.

Phone closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sagat quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sagat trying to control from the bottom.

Phone is looking for a kimura but Sagat is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Phone to get the leverage.

Phone is working for a kimura but Sagat is defending it quite comfortably.
Sagat controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Phone is trying to work for a kimura but Sagat is defending well.
Phone is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Phone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sagat is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sagat has escaped and now he's on top!
Sagat engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Sagat really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Phone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sagat's guard.
Phone trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Phone drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sagat looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sagat looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sagat!
Sagat advances to full mount.
Sagat controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Phone is trying desperately to improve position.
Sagat takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sagat's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Victor Sagat wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sagat lands a leg kick that knocks Phone off balance momentarily.

Phone tries to keep at a distance but Sagat has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sagat stalling against the cage.
Phone has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Phone takes an elbow to the temple.
Phone looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A frustrated look appears on Phone's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sagat prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sagat lands an elbow inside.
Phone is trying to drag Sagat to the mat but Sagat just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Phone wants a takedown.
Victor Sagat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eye Phone.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sagat - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Phone is trying to push Sagat away but Sagat has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sagat stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sagat obliges.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sagat gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Sagat lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Sagat connects with a nasty looking knee right to Phone's face.
Phone looks winded!
Sagat lands an elbow that stopped Phone in his tracks for a moment.
Sagat lands with a light punch inside.
Sagat lands an elbow inside.
Sagat has Phone pressed against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Phone fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Sagat dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sagat defending well as Phone loads up on a big left hand.
Eye Phone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sagat dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Phone. That did some damage!
The crowd cheers as Sagat lands an impressive looking overhand right. Phone doesn't seem phased though.

Sagat closes the distance and clinches.
Phone is looking to take this one to the mat.
Sagat with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Phone is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sagat pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Sagat gets underhooks to prevent Phone's takedown attempt.
Victor Sagat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eye Phone.
Phone is working for takedown but Sagat is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sagat displaying some good clinch control by pressing Phone up against the cage.
Phone takes an elbow to the temple.
Sagat lands a nice knee to the body.
Knees in the clinch landing for Sagat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Phone tries to pull guard but Sagat forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Phone takes a knee right on the jaw!
Sagat gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Sagat with a knee to the head.
Sagat landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Phone is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sagat comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Sagat softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.


Phone is rocked!
Phone takes a knee right on the jaw!
Phone is still on wobbly legs! Can Sagat finish him?
Sagat lands a big knee! That's hurt Phone! Oh, he's all over the place! Sagat lands another knee that sends Phone to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Victor Sagat!
