Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Axel Strong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matrim Cauthon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matrim Cauthon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Axel Strong's chin.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strong misses with an attempted mid kick.

Cauthon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Strong to the mat! Strong manages to get full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Strong tries to control Cauthon's body but Cauthon pushes him off. Strong squirms to his side and now Cauthon has his back!
Strong is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cauthon gets his way!

Strong is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Strong wants to control his opponent's hands but Cauthon gets his hands free.

Matrim Cauthon dominated that round.
That's time! Strong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Strong looks to score with a jab to the body but Cauthon is just out of range.
Cauthon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strong tries to avoid it but Cauthon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strong to the ground. Strong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Axel Strong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matrim Cauthon.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
