Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Troy McLure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdoul Murquite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLure comes to the cage accompanied by The Simpsons Theme Song. Murquite has chosen Não Posso Mais as his entrance music. Abdoul Murquite has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Abdoul Murquite!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Murquite or perhaps it was just good defense by McLure which made him look bad.
McLure throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Murquite shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Murquite was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Murquite looking to punish the body of his opponent here but McLure is avoiding damage well.
McLure is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McLure managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Murquite.
Murquite lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Murquite has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McLure is working to avoid the ground and pound but Murquite connects with a decent elbow.
McLure tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Murquite wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
McLure is not content to let Murquite control the position.
Murquite looking to control but instead McLure has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
McLure won't allow Murquite to pass to mount.

Murquite throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McLure wants to control but Murquite is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Murquite trying to pass the guard but McLure defending well.
Murquite throwing shots but McLure is blocking nicely.
Well, if Murquite is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murquite is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McLure sees it coming and defends easily.

Murquite is looking to take a break and control but McLure is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McLure tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Murquite presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Murquite lands a heavy elbow.

It looks like Troy McLure has been cut.
McLure on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McLure tries to get out of the position.

After winning the bout, Abdoul Murquite thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
