Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Petr Jakovlev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jakovlev comes to the cage accompanied by Devour. Winchester has chosen Carry on my wayward son as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Winchester!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jakovlev misses with a hook. Winchester ducked under it nicely.
Winchester stuffs the takedown.
Jakovlev tries for a takedown but Winchester circles away easily
and Winchester counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petr Jakovlev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Winchester pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab lands there for Winchester.
Jakovlev is looking to clinch but Winchester is avoiding it.

Jakovlev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jakovlev lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Winchester looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Jakovlev throws a strike but Winchester rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Winchester loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jakovlev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Petr Jakovlev.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jakovlev throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Winchester sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jakovlev tries to bum rush Winchester with a series of wild strikes but Winchester uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jakovlev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jakovlev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Winchester as he avoids it easily.

Jakovlev fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Winchester on the side of the head.
Winchester connects with a solid leg kick.
Jakovlev shoots for a double leg takedown but Winchester sprawls well. He's pushed Jakovlev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jakovlev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winchester circles away.
Jakovlev looks to land a left hand but Winchester moved out of range nicely.

Jakovlev shoots for a takedown but Winchester saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Winchester makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Petr Jakovlev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Winchester throws a nice inside leg kick.
Donk. Winchester catches Jakovlev right on the button with a cross.
Jakovlev takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Jakovlev is aggressively charging in as Winchester backs up avoiding any damage. Winchester tosses out a jab and Jakovlev runs right into it face first! Jakovlev is out cold! Winchester dropped down on all fours and is barking in Jakovlev's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sam Winchester!
