The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabouin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gonzalez.
Jabouin scores with a sloppy right hand. Gonzalez should have avoided that one.

Gonzalez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jabouin tries to avoid it but Gonzalez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jabouin to the ground. Jabouin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yves Jabouin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzalez takes one on the button.
Jabouin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gonzalez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gonzalez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab lands there for Jabouin.
Gonzalez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jabouin.
Jabouin misses with a low kick as Gonzalez jumps back.
Jabouin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Gonzalez drives through with a takedown into Jabouin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Gonzalez drops back looking for a leg! Jabouin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jabouin manages to kick Gonzalez off! Gonzalez jumps back into Jabouin's guard.
Jabouin pulls Gonzalez in close to prevent any damage.

Gonzalez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gonzalez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jabouin dives on top into guard.
Gonzalez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jabouin is one step ahead there.
Jabouin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gonzalez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Jabouin rolls with it to try and escape but Gonzalez cranks on the arm and Jabouin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Devon Gonzalez decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
