Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Dagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li has chosen Tourniquet by Evanescence as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Dagger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jet Li!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagger wants to clinch.
A jab from Li finds it's way through Dagger's defenses.
Li connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Li throws a head kick that misses
and Dagger counters with a good, hard body kick but Li shrugs it off.
Li throws out a leg kick but Dagger moves out of range and Li only half commits.

Dagger gets a takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dagger lands a nice short elbow.

Dagger working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Li has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dagger is working away from the top position though.

Dagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Li has his foot on Dagger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dagger works his way back into a safe position though.
Dagger keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Li's head.

Li escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dagger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dagger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Li has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dagger has managed to get both his arms back between Li's legs - danger averted.
Dagger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dagger tries to clinch there but Li circles away.
Dagger just misses with a punch to the body.
Li tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Dagger darts in and clinches Li up against the cage.
Dagger manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dagger creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A right handed body shot lands from Dagger.
Li wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dagger has him pressed against the cage.
Dagger content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Dagger for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Dagger has clasped his hands together around Li's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
