Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Valiente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ostrog Zavurov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ostrog Zavurov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valiente looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Horrible takedown by Valiente or perhaps it was just good defense by Zavurov which made him look bad.
Valiente lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Zavurov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Valiente shoots in and bounces Zavurov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Valiente has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dan Valiente.

and Valiente makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Valiente looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Valiente shoots in looking for a takedown but Zavurov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valiente's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ostrog Zavurov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zavurov cracks Valiente with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Valiente shoots in and bounces Zavurov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Zavurov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valiente. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Valiente drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Zavurov tries to bench press Valiente off him but Valiente keeps the position.

Zavurov is looking to regain half guard here but Valiente keeps moving and retains side control.

Zavurov tries to buck Valiente off but Valiente is having none of it.
Valiente is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zavurov has escaped the position, nice work there.
Valiente decides to stand back up. Valiente steps back and let's Zavurov get back to his feet.
Valiente tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zavurov swivels and escapes.
Valiente moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Valiente has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
