Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Hoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Octavio Bernardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoe's entrance music is Ivanhoe theme. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bernardo's choice of entrance music: Killing Me Softly ( 1973 ). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Hoe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Octavio Bernardo!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bernardo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bernardo pushes Hoe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hoe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bernardo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoe is working Bernardo over with some ground and pound from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoe looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bernardo is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bernardo is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hoe connects with a decent elbow.
Hoe is working Bernardo over with some ground and pound from side control.
Hoe creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bernardo pushes Hoe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hoe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Hoe is chipping away with strikes.
Bernardo wants to get back to his feet.
Hoe wants to control but Bernardo is keeping him busy.
Hoe scores with punches from side control.
Hoe lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bernardo down.
Bernardo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hoe has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoe passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Bernardo!
Hoe has control of Bernardo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bernardo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hoe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bernardo is rocked!
Hoe controlling his opponent.
Hoe loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bernardo scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hoe land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hoe stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Hoe!
