Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Florentino Ernesto Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas fakes the leg kick and cracks Alvarez in the body.
Thomas throws a nice inside leg kick.
Thomas throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Thomas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alvarez misses with a looping right.
Thomas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alvarez.
Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thomas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Alvarez.

Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alvarez dodges the punch combination from Thomas.
Alvarez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alvarez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Thomas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Alvarez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvarez lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Thomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Some bone on bone action there as Alvarez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Sam Thomas dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Thomas throws a sloppy head kick and Alvarez moves out of range easily.

Thomas fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Alvarez checks it well.
Thomas lands the left hand.
Thomas throws a wild body kick that Alvarez sees coming a mile off.
Alvarez swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Alvarez misses with a hook to the body
and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Thomas throws a solid leg kick but Alvarez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Thomas.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Thomas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Alvarez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Alvarez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Thomas misses with an uppercut. Alvarez saw that one coming.
Alvarez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Alvarez wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment.
Thomas is looking to stand up but Alvarez won't let him.
Alvarez pulls Thomas in close to prevent any damage.

Alvarez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Thomas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alvarez. That did some damage!
