Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Cristobal Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gegard Mou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Cristobal Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gegard Mou!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mou misses with a wild combination.
Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mou.
Mou will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diaz dodges the punch combination from Mou.
Diaz tries to sprawl but Mou drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Diaz is not content to let Mou control the position.
Diaz trying to hold on to Mou's head to control him but Mou postures up.
Mou is pressing down on Diaz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diaz is holding on for now.

Diaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Diaz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Diaz is breathing heavily.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mou is working away from the top position though.
Mou is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mou.

Mou is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diaz is just riding it out for now. Mou eventually gives up the hold.
Diaz is not content to let Mou control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mou throwing shots but Diaz is blocking nicely.
Diaz strikes from the bottom but Mou uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Mou trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom.

Mou thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mou throws a strike aimed at the side of Diaz's head but Diaz avoids it well.
The strikes coming from Mou are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mou in side control lands a decent elbow.

Diaz is looking for a sweep.
Mou has an Americana. Diaz didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mou is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mou hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Gegard Mou!
After winning the bout, Gegard Mou thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
