Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazarus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Last Resort kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lazarus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boyd was covering up waiting for the punch and Lazarus finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
