Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rock Sockson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simon misses with a takedown attempt - Sockson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sockson shoots in for a takedown but Simon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Simon shoots for a double leg takedown but Sockson sprawls well. He's pushed Simon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sockson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Simon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sockson!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nigel Simon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Simon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sockson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Simon swats away the attempt to clinch by Sockson.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Simon tries to close the distance and clinch but Sockson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rock Sockson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nigel Simon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sloppy strikes from Sockson. Those never looked like landing.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rock Sockson.
Well Simon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
