PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Birdman Lugz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rutecki might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Remember the Name. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lugz wants to clinch

and Rutecki counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Rutecki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rutecki lands a leg kick that knocks Lugz off balance momentarily.
Rutecki cracks Lugz with an open hand slap.
Rutecki connects with a solid leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rutecki cracks Lugz with an uppercut from hell and Lugz crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Rutecki's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Lugz is rocked!

Rutecki stands up from Lugz's guard - Rutecki perhaps looking for a knockout.
Lugz is still on wobbly legs! Can Rutecki finish him?
Rutecki is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Lugz flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Lugz is out cold! Rutecki holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Our winner, Dexter Rutecki, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
