Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dontae Sheldon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marku Parasca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheldon's entrance music is Salmon Song. A fine choice. Marku Parasca has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheldon lands the left hand.

Sheldon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Marku Parasca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sheldon seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Parasca is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Parasca is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sheldon can't fight it off and eventually Parasca manages to take the fight to the floor. Sheldon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sheldon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sheldon tries to get out of the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sheldon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Parasca manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sheldon stands up and beckons Parasca to join him on the feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sheldon drops Parasca with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Parasca looks back up at him and smiles so Sheldon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Parasca is still on wobbly legs! Can Sheldon finish him?

It looks like Marku Parasca has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sheldon lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Parasca up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Sheldon from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Parasca's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Dontae Sheldon decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
