PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dat Sik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domingo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sik has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dat Sik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Domingo Perez!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Perez decides to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Perez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Perez working for a triangle but Sik defends it easily.
Perez working a defensive guard here.

Sik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Perez is looking for a triangle but Sik pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez trying to keep a closed guard but Sik is proving a slippery customer.
Sik missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Perez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sik has managed to get both his arms back between Perez's legs - danger averted.
Perez controls Sik momentarily but Sik frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez keeping moving, preventing Sik from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perez trying to keep a closed guard but Sik is proving a slippery customer.

Perez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sik stacks Perez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sik!
Perez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Perez is looking to reverse the position.
Sik works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Perez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sik's best efforts.
Perez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sik's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sik's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sik tries to roll but Perez sticks to his back.
Perez throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
I really don't envy Sik right now.
Sik is breathing heavily.
Perez trying to control.

Perez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sik knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sik for a finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perez lands punches and elbows.
I would not like to be Sik right now.
Perez lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Sik.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perez is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sik is trying to break free.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Perez. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Perez is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Sik prevents Perez from getting a body triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Perez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sik knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sik for a finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Domingo Perez dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Perez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sik as he avoids it easily.
Dat Sik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sik displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Perez throws out the jab.
Perez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sik on the side of the head.
Sik shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Perez as he jumps to the side.
Perez feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Siks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Perez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sik gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Perez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Perez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sik checks it well.
Sik moves out of range of the body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sik chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perez can pounce on him.
Perez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sik doesn't seem bothered though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sik listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sik. Sik circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Perez scores with a kick to the midsection.

Perez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sik to the ground. Perez is now in Sik's guard.
Perez is pushing down on Sik's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sik is fighting to maintain full guard but Perez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ground and pound from Perez.
Perez is looking to take a break and control but Sik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Perez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Perez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sik tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Perez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Domingo Perez!
