Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Medeiros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josip Simunic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josip Simunic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Josip Simunic!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simunic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Medeiros swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Medeiros fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Simunic sprawls well initially but Medeiros persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Medeiros uses his free foot to push down on Simunic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Simunic.

Medeiros is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Simunic to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Simunic shrugs it off.
Medeiros takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Medeiros's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Simunic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Medeiros, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
