Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masaaki Hatsumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cees Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatsumi comes into the arena with Ninja mi Ninja blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaaki Hatsumi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cees Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Gunn dips to his left and cracks Hatsumi with an uppercut!
Gunn throws a combination. Hatsumi tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gunn keeps the fight on the outside.
Hatsumi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hatsumi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Gunn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hatsumi pulls his head out easily.

Gunn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hatsumi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hatsumi's back!

Hatsumi wants to stand and escape but instead Gunn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

No joy there for Gunn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gunn ducks under a wild hook from Hatsumi.
Gunn feints a jab promting Hatsumi to slip. Gunn then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hatsumi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Gunn lands a jab to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hatsumi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gunn sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hatsumi tries to clinch but Gunn moves out of range.
Gunn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch lands to the side of Hatsumi 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Hatsumi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gunn is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hatsumi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gunn has picked Hatsumi up and slammed him! Hatsumi can't keep hold of the triangle and Gunn manages to pass to side control!
Hatsumi bucks up and tries to throw Gunn off but instead Gunn has got his back!
Gunn lands a shot to the body.

Gunn is trying to stick to Hatsumi's back but Hatsumi is turning into Gunn. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gunn's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hatsumi.

Gunn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hatsumi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hatsumi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gunn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Gunn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hatsumi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hatsumi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gunn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hatsumi, into his guard.

Hatsumi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gunn defends it easily.

Hatsumi tries to roll over but Gunn keeps him under control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Cees Gunn.
Well Gunn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
