Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan comes into the arena with Cinderella Man By Eminem blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan throws a half hearted mid kick.

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ryan's guard now.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ryan's guard.
Ryan is trying to get back to full guard.

Gracie throwing shots but Ryan is blocking nicely.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Gracie holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gracie jumps guard but Ryan stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Ryan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Ryan wants to take the fight to the mat but Gracie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Ryan wants the takedown. Gracie is fighting it off but Ryan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gracie's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is looking for a triangle but Ryan pushes his legs off easily.
Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ryan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ryan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ryan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gracie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gracie has escaped and now he's on top!
Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Gracie postures up in Ryan's guard and throws a big left but Ryan blocks it.

Gracie is posturing up here but Ryan has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Gracie tries to roll out but it's too tight and Gracie has to tap! Slick submission there by Ryan!
