The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tapout avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Tapout uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Linhares.
Linhares throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Linhares swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Linhares pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Linhares on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Linhares scores with a hook to the body. Tapout takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Luis Carlos Linhares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tapout tries to close the distance and clinch up but Linhares swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tapout dives in and grabs Linhares's left leg, looking for a takedown. Linhares pushes down on Tapout's head and hops out.
Linhares lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Tapout takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tapout takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Tommy Tapout has been cut.
Tapout closes the distance and clinches up with Linhares, looking for a takedown. Tapout pushes Linhares against the cage but Linhares circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Linhares scores with a nice right hand.
Tapout is rocked!
Linhares looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Linhares backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Tapout's temple! It sends Tapout violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Linhares celebrates and the doctors try to help Tapout!

A relieved looking Luis Carlos Linhares thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
