Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorpe has chosen Limelight by Rush as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Joe Frazier has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Frazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Thorpe!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorpe moves in looking to clinch but Frazier pushes him off.
Thorpe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frazier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thorpe somewhat.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Thorpe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Frazier can pounce on him.
Thorpe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Frazier.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Frazier.
Thorpe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Frazier sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Frazier scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Thorpe doesn't seem bothered though.
Frazier throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thorpe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frazier is fending him off so far but Thorpe persists. Nope, Frazier circles away and we're back to standing.
Joe Frazier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Thorpe.

Thorpe on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Frazier. Frazier obviously looking to wear him down.

Frazier stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Frazier wants it to stay on the feet.
Thorpe's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Joe Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A chopping leg kick lands by Frazier.
A head kick from Frazier lands but Thorpe takes it in his stride.
Thorpe throws the left hand but Frazier avoids the punch easily.
Horrible takedown by Thorpe or perhaps it was just good defense by Frazier which made him look bad.
Frazier uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thorpe has time to react.
Frazier dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thorpe. That did some damage!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Frazier tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Thorpe blocks a head kick by Frazier.
Joe Frazier is winning the standup battle so far.
Thorpe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Frazier.
Thorpe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Frazier is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Thorpe.
Thorpe takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Frazier is looking to slow Thorpe down with leg kicks.
Frazier connects with a solid leg kick.
Thorpe shoots in looking for a takedown but Frazier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thorpe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Frazier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Thorpe shoots in looking for a takedown. Frazier tries to sprawl out of it but Thorpe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Frazier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frazier lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Frazier fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thorpe.
Frazier connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Thorpe walks into a jab.


That has opened up Scott Thorpe's cut even more.
Frazier throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A nice inside leg kick there by Frazier. That's going to slow Thorpe down.
Thorpe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Frazier can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scott Thorpe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Frazier throws a leg kick which misses Thorpe's front leg but catches the back leg as Thorpe tries to avoid it.
Thorpe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thorpe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Frazier throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Thorpe is breathing heavily.

Thorpe takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Frazier is looking to slow Thorpe down with leg kicks.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Frazier - that will leave a mark!
Frazier dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thorpe. That did some damage!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thorpe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Frazier - the referee stops the clock and Thorpe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Frazier. Thorpe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Frazier turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Thorpe takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Frazier scoring well with a low kick there.
Crunch! Frazier slams his shin into Thorpe's torso.
Thorpe shoots in for a takedown but Frazier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Frazier lands with a nice body punch.
Frazier throws a leg kick which misses Thorpe's front leg but catches the back leg as Thorpe tries to avoid it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frazier throws a head kick that half lands.
Thorpe takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Thorpe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Frazier lands a big head kick that sends Thorpe tumbling to the mat! Frazier takes a step backwards and waves Thorpe back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Thorpe is rocked!

Thorpe takes one on the button.
Thorpe is still on wobbly legs! Can Frazier finish him?


Scott Thorpe's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Scott Thorpe's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Joe Frazier!
