PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fraz Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerd Stenner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dexter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Grandmaster Flash- message. The crowd seem to be enjoying Stenner's choice of entrance music: Escapado - Gezeichnet. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fraz Dexter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerd Stenner!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stenner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dexter on his heels. He'll look to pass Dexter's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Stenner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dexter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Stenner drops back looking for a leg! Dexter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dexter manages to kick Stenner off! Stenner jumps back into Dexter's guard.

Dexter working for a triangle but Stenner defends it easily.
Dexter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Dexter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stenner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stenner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stenner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dexter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stenner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dexter is bucking up trying to escape but Stenner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Dexter takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Dexter defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stenner.
Dexter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Stenner is landing with some decent strikes but Dexter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Stenner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stenner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stenner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dexter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gerd Stenner dominated that round.
That's time! Dexter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dexter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stenner circles away quickly and effectively.
Stenner moves out of range of the strikes.
Dexter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dexter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dexter throws the kick towards the body but Stenner avoids it.

Dexter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stenner was covering up waiting for the punch and Dexter finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Stenner throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dexter uses it to pass to side control.

Stenner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dexter's guard.

Dexter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stenner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stenner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dexter is trying to control but can't.
Stenner is pressing down on Dexter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dexter is holding on for now.

Stenner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dexter to the ground. Stenner is now in Dexter's guard.

Dexter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Stenner wants to pass the guard but Dexter is keeping the position.
Stenner is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Dexter has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stenner doesn't defend quickly enough and Dexter has managed to lock this one up! Can Stenner escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dexter on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Fraz Dexter!
Fraz Dexter gave a mention to KAISER in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
