Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Murosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murosaki has chosen Lady Marmalade as his entrance music. Koji Murosaki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jean Van Dam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Koji Murosaki!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Dam throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murosaki sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Murosaki lands with an overhand left.
Van Dam walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Van Dam shoots in and bounces Murosaki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Van Dam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murosaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Murosaki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Van Dam manages to get himself to full guard.
Van Dam wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Van Dam manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murosaki is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Murosaki is working to get back to half guard.
Van Dam is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Murosaki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Van Dam has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Murosaki's face.
Van Dam tries to control but Murosaki wriggling away.

Van Dam goes for an armbar but Murosaki turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Murosaki.
Van Dam is looking to stand up but Murosaki isn't so interested in that idea.
Murosaki passes Van Dam's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Dam desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Van Dam is looking to escape.
Murosaki looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Dam is looking to escape.
Murosaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Van Dam is defending against the submission attempts here by Murosaki.
Van Dam is trying to get back to full guard.

Murosaki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Dam sees it coming and defends easily.
Van Dam wants to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Murosaki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Van Dam defends it well.
Murosaki is trying to control. Van Dam wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Murosaki seems to be working for a kimura but Van Dam defends the submission attempt.
Van Dam keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Van Dam is holding on to half guard well.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jean Van Dam just wasn't active enough.
Van Dam on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Van Dam takes one to the side of the head.


Van Dam is rocked!
Van Dam takes a swing at Murosaki's ribcage but misses.
Oh Van Dam is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Van Dam drives through with a takedown into guard.
Van Dam seems to have got his legs back now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Dam chips away with some ground and pound.
Murosaki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Murosaki wants to sweep here but Van Dam controlling him for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Van Dam's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Van Dam won't allow Murosaki to sweep him here.
Van Dam's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Van Dam trying to control the position from guard on top but Murosaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Van Dam tries to free his leg and advance position but Murosaki is retaining full guard.
Van Dam with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Van Dam looking to sit in guard and control but Murosaki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Murosaki looking to pass the guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Murosaki won't allow Van Dam to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Van Dam dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Murosaki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Van Dam tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murosaki was well out of range. Poor timing from Van Dam.
Murosaki throws a shot from downtown. Van Dam moves away and avoids it.

Van Dam closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Murosaki to the mat! Murosaki manages to get full guard.
Van Dam throws a big elbow that misses.
Murosaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Murosaki, not yet.
Van Dam makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Van Dam passes into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van Dam slips a nice elbow through Murosaki's hands, connecting with Murosaki's forehead.
Van Dam is keen to just control but Murosaki is a slippery customer.
Van Dam not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jean Van Dam overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Van Dam looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murosaki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Van Dam looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Van Dam tries to pass the half guard into mount. Murosaki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Dam lands with a punch from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Van Dam lands a nice short elbow.

Murosaki has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Van Dam. Oh but Murosaki has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Van Dam goes limp - he's gone! Murosaki jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Koji Murosaki!
Koji Murosaki decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
