Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Shamus McDermid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Eckstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDermid comes to the ring accompanied by The Drunken Scotsman - The Irish Rovers. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eckstein lands with a cross.

McDermid plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Jason Eckstein has been cut.
McDermid does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
McDermid chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Eckstein can pounce on him.
Eckstein lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McDermid's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Eckstein connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McDermid scrambles back to his feet.

McDermid misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Eckstein dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Eckstein fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McDermid has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

McDermid feints and then cracks Eckstein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Eckstein down.

Eckstein throws a hook to the side of McDermid's head but McDermid sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McDermid is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

McDermid has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Eckstein finds it's way round the side to connect with McDermid's head.
McDermid tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Eckstein was well out of range. Poor timing from McDermid.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McDermid crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Eckstein - the referee stops the clock and McDermid gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Eckstein. McDermid manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Eckstein connects with a leg kick. McDermid looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

McDermid stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Eckstein.
McDermid throws a solid leg kick but Eckstein takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McDermid.
Eckstein will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Eckstein cracks McDermid with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! McDermid is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and McDermid is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! McDermid could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jason Eckstein!
After the fight, Jason Eckstein was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
