The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jones instigates a clinch.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Apple is controlling him.
Jones is trying to push Apple away but Apple has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Apple tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones misses with a hook. Apple ducked under it nicely.

Apple has managed to clinch.
Apple prevents Jones from breaking the clinch.
Apple lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.
Apple could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Apple has him pressed against the cage.
Apple leaning against his opponent.

Apple lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Apple misses with a hook to the ribs.
A right handed body shot lands from Apple.
Still in the clinch, Jones scores with a nice short uppercut.
Apple tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

A nice left hand lands by Apple.

Jones breaks from the clinch.

Apple rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones has a couple of punches blocked by Apple.
Apple keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Apple pushes Jones back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Jones is trying to break free.
Apple blocks an uppercut.
Jones tries to break free but Apple pushes him back against the cage.
Apple tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Jones can't break the clinch.
Apple is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jones breaks the clinch.

Apple rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones tries to break free but Apple pushes him back against the cage.
Apple goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A head kick misses from Jones.
A nice leg kick lands there from Apple.
Apple tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Apple if he has to take too many more of those.
Apple is breathing heavily.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jones sends Apple crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jones is motioning to the referee to let Apple up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Apple is rocked!

Jones closes the distance and pushes Apple back into the cage.
Oh Apple is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones scores with a shoulder strike.
Jones scores with a shot to the side of Apple's head.
Jones is trying to push Apple away but Apple has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Apple tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Apple has double underhooks.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jones misses with a hook from the clinch.
Apple seems to have got his legs back now.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Apple fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jones cracks Apple with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Apple falls to his knees and Jones doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Jim Jones was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
