Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yo Hwan Lim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lim throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lim swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Yo Hwan Lim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douglas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lim.
Lim stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lim misses with a hook. Douglas ducked under it nicely.
Lim catches Douglas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Douglas walks into a left hand.
Lim goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Charles Douglas has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Douglas looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Lim throws a nice looking combination but Douglas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lim misses with an uppercut

and Douglas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Douglas is keen to just control but Lim is a slippery customer.
Douglas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lim!

Douglas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lim to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lim shrugs it off.
Lim is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Douglas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lim is looking to escape.

Douglas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lim is on top in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Douglas pulls Lim in close to prevent any damage.
Lim trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Douglas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lim is one step ahead there.
Lim trying to stand up but can't free himself from Douglas's guard.
Douglas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lim wants to get back to his feet.
Douglas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Yo Hwan Lim will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lim misses with a series of wild punches.
Lim throws a jab when Douglas was well out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lim.
Lim lands a really nice looking cross but Douglas seems unphased.

Douglas drops his hands momentarily and Lim takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Lim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Douglas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lim.
Lim paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lim fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Douglas is out of range.

Yo Hwan Lim is winning the standup battle so far.
Lim throws the left hand but Douglas avoids the punch easily.

Lim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lim missing with a left hand there. Douglas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lim.
Douglas on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lim dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lim fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Douglas on the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lim keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lim lands with an uppercut that bounces Douglas off the cage and back into range.
Some bone on bone action there as Douglas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lim throws a lazy right hand but Douglas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lim moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lim lands an overhand right.
Lim scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lim looks to land a right hand but Douglas moved out of range.

Lim tries a low kick but Douglas avoids it.
Douglas checks the leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lim moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Lim fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lim throws a hook but Douglas avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lim throws out a loose jab but Douglas uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lim thows a body shot but no joy.
Lim looks to land a combination but Douglas avoids it well.
Lim misses with a body shot.
Lim throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lim looks to land a right hand but Douglas moved out of range.
Douglas slips a jab from Lim.
Lim lands with a nice combination. Douglas backs away looking to recover.
Lim is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Douglas can do to turn this around?
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lim lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Douglas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lim throws a hook but Douglas blocks it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Charles Douglas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Douglas circles away quickly and effectively.

Yo Hwan Lim showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lim, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
