Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darui Kumogakure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Snow!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumogakure tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snow was well out of range. Poor timing from Kumogakure.
Snow has his takedown stuffed
and Kumogakure counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice sprawl there from Kumogakure as Snow shoots in.
Snow tries to clinch up.
Snow swinging wildly here.
Jon Snow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kumogakure keeps the fight on the outside.

Snow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Snow tries to stall but Kumogakure uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kumogakure takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kumogakure sizes up Snow with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Snow wants to clinch up but Kumogakure keeps it at a distance.
Kumogakure swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Snow walks into a stiff left hand from Kumogakure.
Kumogakure moves in looking to clinch but Snow pushes him off.
Snow looks for a takedown but Kumogakure sprawls well.
Snow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kumogakure manages to avoid it.

Kumogakure digs a right hand underneath Snow's ribcage. Snow let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Snow takes a shot to the head.
Snow tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kumogakure just stands there and leans against the cage.

Snow is breathing heavily.
Kumogakure has Snow pressed against the cage.
Snow has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kumogakure lands a nice uppercut.
Kumogakure lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Snow tries to pull guard but Kumogakure holds him up against the cage and eventually Snow drops back down to his feet.

Snow manages to break the clinch.
Kumogakure tries to clinch there but Snow circles away.

Snow gets the takedown into side control.
Snow misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Snow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Snow has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kumogakure is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Snow asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Snow is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kumogakure has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kumogakure tries to buck Snow off but Snow is having none of it.

Snow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kumogakure is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

You can see the frustration on Kumogakure's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kumogakure is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Snow has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Snow working the ground and pound but Kumogakure is defending the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darui Kumogakure will probably get the nod.

That's time! Kumogakure's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Kumogakure swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kumogakure ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snow moves away.
Snow has a takedown stuffed.
Snow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Snow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Snow lands in his opponent's guard.

Snow stands and steps away. Kumogakure gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Snow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kumogakure misses with a body shot.

Snow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kumogakure manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kumogakure wants to stand up but Snow is controlling him.

Kumogakure is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Snow wants to pass the guard but Kumogakure is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jon Snow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kumogakure stuns Snow with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Snow shoots in but Kumogakure avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Darui Kumogakure is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kumogakure has a couple of punches blocked by Snow.

Kumogakure misses with a hook from the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kumogakure - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darui Kumogakure.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kumogakure, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
