The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with an uppercut.
Silva is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Eero Niinimaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Niinimaa listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Silva walks into a stiff left hand from Niinimaa.
Silva shoots in but Niinimaa avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Niinimaa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Niinimaa stuns Silva with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Niinimaa lands a big uppercut and Silva crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Silva looks OK. Niinimaa waves Silva back to his feet!
Silva is rocked!
Niinimaa lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Silva up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Niinimaa from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Silva's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eero Niinimaa!
