Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Westinghouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Hustlin. The crowd seem to be enjoying Westinghouse's choice of entrance music: Hiroshima. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Westinghouse!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Jackson.
Westinghouse leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Westinghouse checks a leg kick.
Jackson takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Shawn Jackson has been cut.
Westinghouse throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Westinghouse sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Westinghouse closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Westinghouse quickly recovers to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.
Westinghouse avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackson.
Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jackson passes to side control.

Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jackson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Westinghouse is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Westinghouse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Westinghouse tries to buck Jackson off but Jackson is having none of it.
Jackson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Westinghouse down.

Jackson tries to score with some ground and pound. Westinghouse controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Westinghouse is trying to get back to half guard.
Jackson staying calm.
Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Westinghouse to see if he's OK.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Westinghouse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ground and pound from Jackson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Westinghouse wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Jackson tries to move to mount but Westinghouse blocks the move with his legs.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jackson tries to stand but Westinghouse is controlling his head.
Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Westinghouse to see if he's OK.
Jackson misses with the ground and pound.
Westinghouse tries to bench press Jackson off him but Jackson keeps the position.
Westinghouse is not content to let Jackson control the position.
Jackson advances to mount.
Westinghouse is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Westinghouse wants to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.
Westinghouse is still in real trouble! Can Jackson finish him?
A nice elbow there by Jackson.

Jackson looking for a guillotine from mount but Westinghouse is having none of it.
Jackson is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Westinghouse goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Jackson!
