PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Aoki Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karen Darabedyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes into the arena with Baka Survivor blaring out of the sound system. Darabedyan has chosen KDB Highlights as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Aoki Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karen Darabedyan!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Darabedyan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Karen Darabedyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aoki dips to his left and cracks Darabedyan with an uppercut!
Aoki is looking to land body kicks.
A slapping body kick lands there for Aoki.
Darabedyan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Aoki can pounce on him.
Aoki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Some wild striking there from Darabedyan.
Darabedyan throws a hook to the side of Aoki's head but Aoki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Aoki explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Darabedyan moves out of range as Aoki throws a body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darabedyan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Aoki scores with a sloppy right hand. Darabedyan should have avoided that one.
Darabedyan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Aoki counters with a nice uppercut.
Darabedyan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Aoki.

Aoki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Aoki thows a body kick. Darabedyan tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Aoki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Good exchange - Aoki coming out on top.
Darabedyan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A jab from Aoki does it's job there.
Darabedyan missing with a left hand there. Aoki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Darabedyan throws a half hearted mid kick.
Aoki goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Darabedyan is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Darabedyan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aoki.

Aoki presses Darabedyan against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Aoki keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Darabedyan's efforts to push away.
Aoki lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Darabedyan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Darabedyan misses with the combination.
Aoki connects with a high kick.

Darabedyan tries to circle away but Aoki has him pinned against the ropes.
Aoki lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Aoki keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Darabedyan's efforts to push away.

Aoki breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Darabedyan with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Darabedyan looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Darabedyan get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Aoki Aoki tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
