The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonnen scores with a takedown into Wojtk's guard.
Sonnen tries to free his leg and advance position but Wojtk is retaining full guard.

Sonnen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sonnen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sonnen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wojtk's head.
Wojtk is trying to hold Sonnen in close to prevent damage but Sonnen has managed to pass into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sonnen has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wojtk tries to hold on but Sonnen postures up.
Wojtk is trying to escape the mount.
Wojtk is bucking up trying to escape but Sonnen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Wojtk tries to reverse the position but Sonnen maintains control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sonnen postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Wojtk bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Sonnen and the fight is over!

Chael Sonnen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
