PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Foss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Banjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Foss's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Now its on, Tech 9. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Foss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Remy Banjasky!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foss shoots for a double leg takedown but Banjasky sprawls well. He's pushed Foss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Foss fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Foss avoids the head kick by Banjasky.
Banjasky throws a push kick but Foss slaps the foot to one side.
Banjasky tries a head kick but it misses.
Remy Banjasky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banjasky misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Banjasky wants to clinch but Foss slips to the side
and Foss counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Banjasky throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Banjasky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Foss circles away.
Banjasky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Foss's waist but Foss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Banjasky off to one side.
Banjasky throws a sloppy head kick and Foss moves out of range easily.
Banjasky looks winded!

Foss bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Foss is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Banjasky knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Foss tries to score with some ground and pound. Banjasky controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Banjasky trying to remain calm as Foss controls from the top position.

Foss thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Foss connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Banjasky some visible discomfort.
Foss really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Foss scoring with punches from side control.

Foss tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Foss lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Banjasky down.
Foss cracks Banjasky with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Foss looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Foss stands up.

Foss scores with a takedown into Banjasky's guard.
Foss is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Foss working some strikes from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Foss looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Foss works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Foss is looking for a kimura but Banjasky is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Foss to get the leverage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, if Foss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Foss dominated that round.
That's time! Foss's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Banjasky throws a front kick aimed at Foss's knee but Foss avoids it well.
Banjasky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Banjasky darts in trying to clinch

and Foss counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Banjasky stops a takedown attempt from Foss.
Banjasky working hard to break the clinch.
Banjasky is trying to force a seperation but Foss has the dominant position.

Foss gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foss pushes down on Banjasky's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Banjasky is breathing heavily.

Foss is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Banjasky is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Foss scores with a couple of nice shots.

Foss maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Banjasky could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Foss has cracked it and Banjasky is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Foss!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Josh Foss!
Josh Foss decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
