The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Brown scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rico doesn't seem bothered though.
Rico ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rico is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Rico lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brown at a distance.
Rico paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Brown buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Brown takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rico tests Brown's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rico lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Brown looks to land a left hand but Rico moved out of range nicely.
Rico lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Brown displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rico throws out the jab.
Rico is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Brown had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Rico moves out of range easily.
Rico has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Brown feints a jab promting Rico to slip. Brown then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rico slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Johnnie Rico has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rico uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brown.

Brown throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rico sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rico lunges at Brown with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Brown's hand.

Rico drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Nice defenses there by Brown.
Rico looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well.
Rico lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Brown lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rico's sensitive parts.
Brown throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Brown, as that shot connected.

The cut above Johnnie Rico's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Brown moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Brown paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rico connects with a single shot there.
Rico cracks Brown with a right hand to the side of the head.

Brown throws a shot from downtown. Rico moves away and avoids it.
Brown throws a nice inside leg kick.
Rico bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brown's head backwards.
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brown avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Brown looks to land a right hand but Rico moved out of range.
Johnnie Rico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rico.

Johnnie Rico's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Johnnie Rico's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
