Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Gustilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kosi Mazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marvin Gustilo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kosi Mazaki!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Gustilo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mazaki just misses with a punch to the body.
Mazaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Gustilo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mazaki avoids the head kick by Gustilo.
Mazaki tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gustilo is able to avoid easily.
Gustilo checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Mazaki takes a swing at Gustilo's ribcage but misses.
Mazaki just misses with a punch to the body.
Mazaki throws a chopping leg kick but Gustilo manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Mazaki lands a head shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gustilo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gustilo throws a big right hand that misses.

Gustilo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gustilo throws an elbow that misses. Mazaki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gustilo's guard. Nice move by Mazaki!

Mazaki trying to move into half guard but instead Gustilo has managed to sweep!
Gustilo wants to control from the top but Mazaki keeps moving.
Gustilo cracks Mazaki with a solid left hand.
Gustilo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gustilo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Gustilo has gone for a leg lock! Mazaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gustilo's guard.
Gustilo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mazaki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mazaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gustilo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kosi Mazaki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gustilo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gustilo fails with the takedown.
Kosi Mazaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mazaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Gustilo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marvin Gustilo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gustilo walks into a straight right hand from Mazaki.
Mazaki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gustilo.
Mazaki misses the jab.
Mazaki swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Gustilo throws a head kick but Mazaki moves out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Mazaki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mazaki.
Gustilo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mazaki moves away.
Mazaki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mazaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gustilo. Mazaki does a little dance to reset his feet.
No joy there for Mazaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gustilo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mazaki slips a straight right by Gustilo.
A telegraphed right hand from Mazaki misses the target.
Gustilo tries a head kick but it misses.
Gustilo on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Mazaki fails to land with a series of punches.
Mazaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Gustilo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gustilo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mazaki's half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mazaki has hold of Gustilo's hands but Gustilo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kosi Mazaki dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Gustilo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mazaki.
Gustilo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Mazaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gustilo circles away quickly and effectively.
Kosi Mazaki seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mazaki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mazaki stuffs the takedown attempt from Gustilo. Gustilo gets slowly back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mazaki looks to throw the jab but Gustilo is out of range.

Oooooh!!! Mazaki has knocked Gustilo down with a huge combo! Mazaki steps away and waves a wobbly Gustilo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Gustilo is rocked!


It looks like Marvin Gustilo has been cut.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Mazaki knocks Gustilo out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kosi Mazaki!
In his post fight interview, Kosi Mazaki started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
